
All About Intermountain Health Care
It has been founded in 1975 on April 1, Intermountain Health Care is not for profit health care system and also a large health care provider in Inter mountain west. Intermountain has its headquarters are situated at Salt Lake City, Utah with more than 25,000 employees. Prior to this the hospitals are being organized by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1974 it has decided that it would no longer operates the hospitals as a system and it donated to its fifteen hospitals to Intermountain community, by a condition that it should be a not-for-profit organization on behalf of they served. In 1982 this has began to provide non-hospital services such as clinics, and home health care.
By inception to board the members of Intermountain Health care were unpaid volunteers. Raising of funds to the organization was done through the bond market and by this within few years, several additional hospitals asked to join this organization. By today, Intermountain Healthcare operates 26 hospitals and health care centers in Utah, and 1 hospital in Idaho. Intermountain Healthcare operates over 150 healthcare facilities by total.
The Foundation has been awarded 12 grants summing about $375,000 so that it can help Utah agencies such that it can provides free medication to the required. And also considered as top 100 most technology savvy health system. It provides quality treatment to the people regardless of the medical bill. And the total benefits of the community was has been reached to more than $2.9 billion since 1989.
